Get Involved

Become a Club Member

Joining the American Red Cross Club is a fantastic way to get involved with a health-related service organization, give back to the UConn/CT communities, develop leadership and communication skills, make new friends, and have fun!

General member meetings are held every Monday in the Student Union Room 104. During the semester, members assist in advertising, fundraising, and awareness efforts. Members also set up and clean up blood drives, act as Chairperson of the Drive, and provide refreshments for donors.

Active members pay $5 dues and complete 7 hours of service per semester.

Learn More About Blood Donation

Registered Student Organizations can request an information session about the importance of blood donation through our Community Relations Chair, Sara Bisighini. Presentations last 15-20 minutes and cover topics such as facts about blood donation, resources for blood donors, and information about the donation process. For more information please contact uconnredcross@gmail.com.

Sponsor a Blood Drive

Registered Student Organizations can gain service hours by sponsoring a blood drive. Organizations that sponsor drives are responsible for promoting their specific day and for providing volunteers to assist blood donors after their donation is complete. For more information, please contact our Blood Drive Coordinator, Dean Mazzola, at dean.mazzola@uconn.edu.
